The Rotaro T digital hand tachometer is a compact device used to measure rotational speed, velocity, and length. It offers two measurement methods:
- Optical (non-contact) method
- Uses a beam of light directed at a reflective sticker placed on the rotating object.
- The reflected light signal corresponds to the speed of rotation.
- The reading is displayed instantly on a 5‑digit LCD screen.
- Measurements can be taken from a distance of up to 600 mm.
- Mechanical (contact) method
- Uses a probe that is physically attached to the rotating shaft.
- A measuring wheel can be fitted to the adapter to measure surface velocity or length.
Additionally, with a special adapter, the device can measure the length and speed of materials such as yarn, wire, glass, or other fibers
